T.J. Daniel resigns as CCHS teacher

The following statement was issued today by William F. Curtis, interim director, Cannon County Schools.

"T. J. Daniel, Cannon County High School teacher, submitted his resignation today, March 7th, 2018, effective immediately. His resignation was accepted, and he waived his 30-day notice requirement."

Daniel, the son of school board chairman Bruce Daniel, had been placed on paid suspension last Friday after tapes surfaced of him lifting up underage female students and swinging them around in his classroom.

He had also recently resigned as head football coach after a number of his players and other students complained about what they considered to be inappropriate actions and behavior, which they documented in a letter to CCHS principal Mike Jones.
