A man has been charged with two counts of violating an order of protection on the same day it was obtained.

Cannon County Sheriff’s Sgt. Randy Neal and Deputy Rodney Nichols were dispatched to 402 Rivendall Road on June 14. Upon arrival, Deputy Nichols spoke with Elizabeth Mankin, who stated that she and her husband had an order of protection against their son, Clifton Mankin, Jr. Elizabeth Mankin said that the order was served on this date (June 14) around 3 p.m. She also said that Clifton called her cellular phone around 3:30 p.m. and left two messages.

According to Elizabeth, one message from Clifton Jr. told her to tell Clifton Mankin, Sr. that “it was on now and he was going to have his (butt) put in jail.”

Elizabeth also stated her son was an alcoholic and drug abuser and that she and her husband were both afraid of him.

Sgt. Neal advised Elizabeth he would attempt to make contact with Clifton Jr. and that when located he would be arrested for violating an order of protection.

After leaving 402 Rivendell Rd., Sgt. Neal and Deputy Nichols went to 150 Rivendell Rd. to try and make contact with Clifton Jr. He was found at that location and advised he had violated the order of protection which had been served on him earlier in the day. He stated he had called his mother two different times and did leave her a message. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Cannon County Jail for booking.

Bond was set at $20,000. Initial court date is June 28.
