Hannah Whitted and Samantha Gaither are all about blue after their three legged race. Both girls will be entering college this fall and are best friends.
Charles Sharpe age 82 from Warace, TN finished  the 5 K Run by walking in less than one hour. He has been attending the Auburntown Red Apple Days Race with his son David for the past 20 years.
“Red Apple Days Parade”: Jimmy Mingle and wife Millie, pose with Jimmy’s 1950 Dodge truck which led the 2017 Red Apple Days Parade at the town’s 40th Annual Red Apple Days Celebration held Saturday, August 5th. Perched in the bed of the truck is the now famous red rooster riding a three-wheel bicycle. The truck is a “tourist” attraction parked outside Jim Bo’s Restaurant, Auburntown.
“Oldest and Youngest”: Two year old John David Dooley, Auburntown, crosses his shortened “finish line” with grandmother Betty King assistance during Red Apple Days 5K Run. Middle back  ground is 82 year old Charles Sharpe whom walked the 5 K in less than an hour. Betty King is retired 1st grade teacher at Auburn School.
“Prettiest Puppy Dog Eyes”: Lily Crook holds her chocolate lab puppy, winner in several categories of the “Red Apple Days Paws 4 Special Needs Dog Show”. The non-profit organization, “Paws 4 Special Needs,” provides scholarships for special needs dogs to qualifying children. Joe Barrett enjoyed the All You Can Eat Fish Fry at the Auburntown Red Apple Days 40th Anniversary Celebration. Talking with friends while enjoying fish and all the trimmings was Joe’s way of taking in Red Apple Days 2017. Joe lives on Davenport Avenue, Auburntown. Lion Fred Shafer far right.
