Sissom Is Guest Reader At Woodbury Grammar's Family Reading Night
On Tuesday, November the third, Woodbury Grammar school hosted their second family reading night of the year. The students enjoyed milk and cookies as their refreshment.

Miss Emily Sissom, a junior at CCHS, was our guest reader. Emily has already been awarded a scholarship to college for her exceptional basketball abilities. Emily read the students a book, written by Michael Jordan's mother, called Salt in his shoes: Michael Jordan in pursuit of a dream.

This book teaches that if you are willing to work hard and never lose faith you can achieve your dreams. She told them that when she first started playing basketball that she was not that good. She had to work hard and practice a lot to develop her skills.

Before she left she gave each student a bag of salt with the following quote from Michael's mother attached. "You are gifted. You are talented and special. God has a plan for each of you; just believe in yourself and follow your dreams. By the Grace of God you can fly. So Just Do It."

We would like to thank Emily and her family for joining us and doing a superb job!

Following the story the students took Accelerated Reading test were they were awarded double the AR points they would normally earn. They read books and chose new books to take home.

Four cash door prizes were awarded to; Justin Hill, Abigail Ferrell, Coby Brown, and Natalie Hill.

Our next family reading night will be December 14th in the WGS library. Our guest readers will be Mr. and Mrs. Claus. We hope all of our students will come with their family and visit with this famous couple and enjoy our books.
