Silver and Gold Band to appear
Staff The Silver and Gold Band from McMinnville is the oldest community band in the state of Tennessee. Director Mike Chilcutt and the band annually perform local Christmas concerts and this year have added a concert/singalong at Simmons Chapel, Hollow Springs Road, on December 5. The band is composed of musicians from surrounding counties and welcomes new musicians. Former Cannon County Band Director, Jim Sabia, plays trombone with the band. “If you play a wind instrument you are invited to play with the band,” Sabia said.
