Signs of fall approaching at Farmers Market
Tuesday, September 26, 2017 12:40 pm
When the Cannon County Farmers Market first opened in the spring, everyone was ready for their first vine ripen tomato, okra and the freshness of locally grown fruits and vegetable. Local beekeeper Kenneth Beaty plans to bring his "bee observation hive" to the Market.
It is always a little disappointing to see the end of the season and just like the opening game of college football, begin looking forward to next season. While we know that the season will soon come to an end, you can count on the Markets producers to offer a great selection all the way up to the first biting frost.
The farmers and bakers at the Market has a great selection of fruits, vegetables, baked and canned goods, local honey and container plants. Drop by the Market this Saturday from 7 A.M until Noon to get you veggie fix along with some delicious homemade goods. The Cannon County Farmers Market is located at the Arts Center of Cannon County under the Farmers Pavilion. If you would like to be a vendor or need additional information, contact Bruce Steelman at the University of Tennessee Extension Office at 614 Lehman Street or 615-563-2554.
