Sheriff's Office recovers stolen Jeep

Cannon County
Sheriff's Department

Cannon County Invest-igators, assisted by the Warren County Sheriff's Department, recovered a 1996 Jeep that was stolen from an address on Short Mountain Road.
Tyler Glenn Parsley was already in custody in connection with the theft of a 2005 Ford Explorer and a Nissan hardbody truck.
Parsley subsequently told Jail Administrator Ed Brown that he wanted to speak to Investigator Brandon Gullett about the theft of the Jeep and its contents.
"Tyler then presented me with a detailed map of the location of the stolen Jeep along with its contents. The map detailed that the Jeep would be located in an area of woods just across from Yorozu in Warren County and the contents of the Jeep (gun, clothes, hunting equipment and other personal items) ... would be located in an ATM beside the burned down Bank Pak building in Warren County," Gullett reported.
Gullett, along with Chief Deputy Anthony Young and Investigator Chris Brown, went to Warren County and began to search assisted by Investigator Steven Carpenter of the Warren County Sheriff's Department.
A .22-caliber rifle, hunting clothing and various Jeep equipment were recovered. Each item was logged in and photographed.
However, the officers had trouble finding the missing Jeep.
Administrator Brown brought suspect Parsley to the scene.
"Once Ed arrived with Tyler we went behind a tool and die business and located the Jeep," which was hidden in thick vegetation.
Parsley was then charged with the theft of the Jeep and contents. A court date is set for Sep. 1 in General Sessions Court.
