Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Eric Moss was dispatched to 3228 Iconium Road on Sept. 1 in regard to an assault that had already occurred.

Upon arrival he spoke with Michael Prater, who stated that he was at a friend’s house, Brent Mathis, getting something out of his tool box. Prater stated that he was getting ready to leave when Rob Self came up behind him and hit him in the back of the head.

Prater stated that he fell to the ground and Mathis pulled Self off of him. Prater stated that he got in his vehicle and was attempting to leave when Self started hitting his vehicle with a metal bar. Self hit and broke the front windshield, knocked out the passenger side window and then threw the metal bar through the rear driver’s side window.

Deputy Moss observed that Prater had a swollen place behind his left ear where he said that Self had hit him.

Deputy Moss then spoke with Prater’s wife, Angela Prater, and she stated that when her husband got home he told her what had happened and he asked her to call Brent Mathis and have him bring his cell phone to their home because he had dropped it during the assault.

Ms. Prater stated that while she was on the phone with Brent Mathis, Rob Self got on the phone and told her that she was lucky that he did not kill Michael. Ms. Prater stated that she went to Mr. Mathis’ home to retrieve her husband’s phone and while she was there, Self told her that he did assault Mr. Prater and that he would kill him if he ever saw him again.

Ms. Prater stated that Self said that Michael had no place calling or texting his girlfriend. Ms. Prater stated that she told Self that all she wanted was her husband’s phone and Angela Mathis gave her the phone and she left the property.

While Deputy Moss was taking statement from Mr. and Mrs. Prater, Deputy Neal took pictures of the damage to Prater’s vehicle and of the injury that he sustained. Deputy Moss escorted Michael and Angela Prater to the Cannon County Sheriff’s Department where they spoke with the Judicial Commissioner and warrants were taken out on Robert Lynn Self, Jr. for simple assault and vandalism.

Deputy Moss, along with Deputy Brandon Mimms, was accompanied by Warren County Sheriff’s Department to 130 Lon Goff Road,McMinnville, where they placed Robert Lynn Self, Jr. under arrest for Simple Assault and Vandalism. Self was transported to the Cannon County Sheriff’s Department and turned over to booking.

Bond for Self was fixed at $10,000. Initial court date is set for Oct. 5.

Other recent arrests by the CCSD and Woodbury Police Department include:

• Sonia M. Lyons, Cedar Ridge Apts. C-5, Woodbury, was charged with driving on a suspended license 1st offense by WPD Patrolman John Fesmire on Sept. 1. Lyons was stopped for doing 36 in a 20 mph zone. Initial court date is Oct. 10.

• Kory Lyndell Smith, 7607 McMinnville Hwy., Woodbury, was charged with DUI 1st offense and violation of the implied consent law on Sept. 2 by WPD Sgt. John House following a traffic stop on McMinnville Hwy. Smith was released on $3000 bond. Initial court date is Oct. 12.

• Jeremy Frank Buse, 111 Cedar Ridge B-3, Woodbury, was charged with driving on a revoked license second offense by WPD Sgt. Kevin Mooneyham on Aug. 30. Bond was fixed at $1500. Initial court date is Sept. 14.

• Brent E. Boyd, 8968 Boyd Rd., Bone Cave, TN was arrested on a charge of theft on a warrant sworn out by Carl Womacjk, 675 Swamp Rd., McMinnville on Sept. 2. Womack claims that on Sept. 2 he found a 1985 Dodge Ram vehicle belonging to him at 2265 Osment Rd. Womack witnessed the theft of his vehicle and also identified the defendant Brent Boyd. Bond was set at $5,000. Initial court date is Nov. 30.

• Melissa Alta Barns, 4834 Dickens Hill Rd., Bradyville, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault on Aug. 14 on a warrant sworn out by Archie Clark Campbell, 4834 Dickens Hill Rd., Bradyville. Campbell alleges that Barns slapped his daughter in the face. Bond was set at $2,500. Initial court appearance is Oct. 5.

• Kenneth Anderson Jr., 2632 K Parker Rd., Bradyville, was charged with no vehicle registration and no proof of insurance by CCSD Deputy Tommy Barker on Aug. 20. Initial court date is set for Sept. 21.

• Illa Kay Smith, 286 George Scott Rd., Woodbury, was charged with simple assault on Aug. 31 on a warrant sworn out by Cynthia Thomas, 915 Simpson Rd., Bradyville. Thomas alleges that Smith told her that she was going to kill her and then she would burn her daughter's house with her grand babies in it. Bond was set at $1,000. Initial court date is set for Oct. 5.

• Terry Brian Tramel, 110 Cannon Court Apt. 10, was arrested by WPD Patrolman John Fesmire on Aug. 26 on a charge of solicitation for delivery/sale of a controlled substance. Tramel allegedly solicited a quarter pound of marijuana from Ronald Jernigan Jr. and Christopher Ferrell. Text message show that Tramel ordered the marijuana from Jernigan. The marijuana was intercepted by law enforcement during delivery. Bond was set at $2,000. Initial court date is set for Sept. 14.

• Patsy Lynn Estes McCoy, 120 Kings Court Lot B, Smithville, was arrested on Sept. 3 on a charge of theft over $1,000 on a warrant sworn out by JoAnne Johnson, 4545 Big Hill Rd., Liberty. Johnson alleges that McCoy entered her home through the back window, causing damage to the screen, and took a sapphire ring, sapphire bracelet, marquis diamond ring, Ipod touch, $295 of fundraiser money, $100 in change, $100 in dollar bills, three bottles of liquor, beef steaks and $95 of her grandchildren's money. The total value of the items taken is estimated to be around $1,500. Bond was set at $10,000. Initial court date for McCoy is Sept. 28.

• Kerry M. Jordan, 4896 Jacksboro Rd., Morrison, was charged with promotion of methamphetamine manufacture, driving under the influence and violation of the implied consent law on Sept. 3 by CCSD Deputy Tommy Barker. Barker's report states that Jordan was traveling east past the 7600 block of Hollow Springs Road when Barker observed Jordan's vehicle swerving back and forth between lanes and almost striking the vehicle traveling in front of him. During the ensuing traffic stop and arrest Barker found in excess of nine grams of Ephedrine in Jordan's vehicle after he consented to a search. Bond was set at $17,000. Initial court date is Oct. 5.

• Johnathon Wayne Kestner, 124 Meadowbrook Dr., Woodbury, was charged with reckless endangerment by CCSD Deputy Lawrence Avera on Sept. 5. Kestner allegedly went to the residence of Chris Hoover at 895 Bradyville Rd. and drove his vehicle, a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, recklessly in Hoover's yard while Hoover was standing in the yard, putting Hoover in fear of imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury. Kestner's bond was set at $3,000. Initial court date is set for Oct. 12.

• Michael Gene Jones, 1506 Bradyville Rd., Readyville, was charged with aggravated domestic assault on Sept. 3 by CCSD Deputy Brandon Gullett. Jones allegedly held the victim down and held a gun (pistol) to her head, stating that he was going to kill her. The victim stated that this did put her in fear of bodily injury or death. Bond was set at $14,000. Initial court date is set for Oct. 5.

• Carl Luther Hale Jr. and Nathan Carl Hale, both of 2301 Eugene Reed Rd., Woodbury, were arrested on Sept. 4 following an incident investigated by CCSD Deputer Tommy Barker. Nathan Hale was charged with domestic assault after allegedly initiating a physical confrontation between himself and Carl Hale Jr. in which both subjects sustained knife injuries. Carl Hale Jr. was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment. He allegedly engaged in conduct which placed Brandy Bates and her infant child in danger of death or serious bodily injury. Hale Jr. had a knife in hand while he and Nathan Hale were in a domestic dispute. Bates had her infant in her arms between both subjects during the altercation. Bond for Carl Hale, Jr. was set at $10,000, and for Nathan Hale at $5,000. Their initial court appearance is Oct. 5.

• Kayla Marie Chumley, 115 Meadowbrook Dr., Woodbury, and Cody Leon Parks, 2237 Iconium Rd., Woodbury, were charged with underage possession and consumption of alcohol by WPD Sgt. John House on Sept. 3 during a safety and sobriety checkpoint. Initial court date for both defendants is set for Oct. 12.
