School Board Vacancies, ADA Topics Of Tonight Commission Meeting

Two vacant seats of the Cannon County Board of Education are expected to be temporarily filled tonight as the Cannon County Commission looks to take nominations and make the appointments during their monthly meeting at the Cannon County Courthouse.
School Board members in districts 2 and 5 both resigned after the August meeting. Those appointed tonight will be serving on the Board until the November election.
Other items on the agenda is to look at the request to reclassify or rezone property at 1506 Jim Cummings Highway, look at budget amendments submitted by the Sheriff's Department and County Clerk's Office, receive updates from the A.D.A compliance project including the website.
Commissioner Ronnie Mahaffey will continue his talk about the 9-1-1 agreement and the tax relief act.
The meeting starts today at 5:30.
