SAVE Fest POSTPONED



Predicted rain storms has resulted in the SAVE Fest being rescheduled. A date will be announced later.

An appearance by Jesse Whitley is expected to highlight the SAVE Fest, Saturday (May 4) on the Square in Woodbury.

A third generation singer/songwriter, Whitley is the son of Lorrie Morgan and the late Keith Whitley and grandson of Grand Ole Opry legend George Morgan. He has a talent for both singing and song writing

The SAVE Fest begins at 10 a.m. and continues until 9 p.m.  Whitley is scheduled to appear at 4:30 p.m.

Whitley has toured with his mother, Lorrie Morgan and has played popular venues in the Nashville area, and all across the country.

He is one of several acts scheduled to appear during the SAVE Fest. 61 Seconds is set for noon to 1:30 p.m. followed by JRBY. Lance Chandler, "The Black Collar Outlaw," will appear at 6 p.m.

Other activities include auctions at 3 and 7 p.m. and an appearance by the Pleasant View Baptist Worship Team.

Wildlife Officer Mark Vance will host a wildlife information booth with displays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

A "free-throw" contest for ages 8 to 12 and 13 to 16 is



A "free-throw" contest for ages 8 to 12 and 13 to 16 is planned with a cash prize for winners. A cornhole tournament, free blood pressure checks and face painting is also planned.

Cannon County SAVE is a not for profit agency geared toward stopping the spread of domestic and sexual violence in the local community.

 SAVE is the only agency of its type in Cannon County and is on the front line for all victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and provides free services for all victims. The agency works closely with local law enforcement, the Department of Children's Services and the local court system.
