Cannon traveled to Percy Warner Steeplechase in Nashville to compete in the TSSAA State Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 3. This is the second year in a row for the Cannon High girls to win All-Region title and take Cannon County to the State meet.

There were 22 girls teams and 171 female runners. Cannon girls placed 7th out of 22 teams and 5 of the girls ranked in the top half of all of the girls in the State with our whole team crossing the finish line close by them. Results: 44th Ade Harwood 23:47, 55th Emily Morris 24:16, 68th Kiley Hughes 24:53, 70th Tyger Kennedy 24:54, 75th Zettie Elrod 25:04, 102nd Sam Jones 26:11, 147th Akristia Sissom 29:55. There were 23 boys teams and 183 male runners.

Cannon boys had great State performance times competing with a large number at the competition coming in one right after another. Brad Phillips 19:58, Tyler Southworth 20:34, Tristan Davis 21:09, James Vassar 21:15, Duncan Cook 22:19 and with an injury on the mend. Talk about that Cannon County strength and pride as he crossed the finish line. Jon Heffelfinger 23:18, Nate Campbell 23:28.
