The Cannon County Jr. High Lions football team finished off their 2018 season with 8th grade recognition night. However, it was a couple of seventh grade football players that got the highlights on the field despite a 36-20 losing effort to Cascade at Fred Schwartz Field Thursday night. Quarterback Kolby Miller scored two touchdowns including a 73 yard kickoff return and Isaiah Bogle picked up a Cascade fumble and ran it 29 yards for a touchdown.
Tonight the Cannon County Lions renew their rivalry with the Dekalb County Tigers in Smithville. Both teams are 2-3 and even though this is not a region contest, it has all the makings of an epic game. The Lions dominated on Fred Schwartz Field last season beating Dekalb in almost every category. The Tigers are looking to avenge the loss
The game will be broadcast live on Cannon Courier News and Events starting at 7:00
