Richard Wayne Elkins

Richard Wayne Elkins, 62, died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at VA Medical Center in Nashville after an extended illness. A native of Cannon County, he resided in Woodbury.

A member of the Church of Christ, he was a Vietnam/Army veteran and a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his father, the late Richard Earl Elkins.

Survivors include his mother, Callie Beaurena St. John Elkins of Woodbury; siblings, Judy Elkins, Mark (Pat) Elkins, Sherry (Phil) Thomas, Johnny (Kim Floyd) Elkins, Beverly (Robert) Pitts and Myla Jordan, all of Woodbury; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Norman Pelham and Bro. Herb Alsup officiating. Burial was in Leoni Cemetery.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
