Reward Offered In Shooting Of Family Pet

A $100 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the shooting of a Doberman Thursday.

The shooting reportedly occurred sometime between 3:00 and 9:30 p.m. on Carole Anne Drive in the Lake Anne Subdivision.

The dog was shot with a .22 caliber weapon. The owners report it survived, but is scheduled to undergo surgery Monday at the Cannon County Animal Clinic. The bullet went through the dog and could have hit anyone nearby, the owners report.

The two-year-old pet serves as a companion for the owners' children, ages 5 and 6 months.

At about the time the Doberman was shot, a neighbor's pit bull, tan in color, was stolen.

Persons with information about the shooting can call 615-653-9318 or 1-615-849-6639. Information can also be e-mailed to tennesseeinvestigator@yahoo.com or emmas@heartoftn.net. The identity of persons providing information will be kept confidential.

According to the owner, four dogs have been shot in the Lake Anne Subdivision in recent months.
