Faced with a projected budget deficit of almost $550,000 for the fiscal year 2010-2011, which begins July 1, the Budget Committee of the Cannon County Commission decided to eliminate a pay raise for county employees Monday night.
The Cannon County Election Commission has decided to hold its regular monthly meeting at the Cannon County Courthouse next Tuesday, July 6, Administrator of Elections Stan Dobson said Monday.

Paving Of Cannon, Tatum Streets Set For Next Week
Work on Cannon County Courthouse Square Revitalization Project is nearing completion with only final paving on two streets and “other minor details” to be concluded before the mission is complete.
On Wednesday of this week, The Cannon Courier was requested to make it known that money had been found in Cannon County. On Thursday, following a notice posted on our Web site, the owner of the money was located.
