Rayburn Lawrence Knox, 77, of Readyville died March 23, 2011. He was born in Cannon County November 30, 1933. His parents were the late Hershel Knox and Lera Pearl (Robinson) Knox. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Mammie Lassiter.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Knox of Readyville; a son, Larry Knox of Readyville; a sister, Rachel Bush as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the Church of Christ. He graduated Central High School in the Class of 1952. He worked for the Colonial Shirt Factory in early years. Later he worked for General Electric and Mi Tech Steel retiring from both.

Visitation was Friday, March 25, 2011 from 4-8 PM at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 10 A.M. in the Smith Funeral Home chapel.
