Rachel B. Kirby, 87, died Oct. 13, 2016 in Bangor. She was born Apr. 30, 1929 in Franklin, the daughter of Frank and Ruby (Jordan) Bragdon.

Rachel graduated from Portland High School in 1948. She was a longtime resident of Brewer and worked for several years at the Air Guard Base Exchange, Bangor as a sales associate. She enjoyed time spent with her family especially following her grandson's schooling and sporting events.

Surviving are three children, Joe Francis and his wife, Joann of Woodbury, Tennessee, Jeffrey Francis of Brewer and Greg Kirby and his wife, Amanda of Readfield; three grandchildren, Misty Powell and her husband, Johnny and Stacie Bryson and her husbnad, Michael all of Woodbury, TN and Miles Kirby of Readfield; five great grandchildren, Lane, Cullen, Jonathan, Charles and Carson. She was predeceased by six brothers and sisters.

Family and friends may visit 5 - 7 PM Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. Private burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
