Mr. Phillip Carl Baker, Sr., 89, of Woodbury died March 11, 2011. He was born July 26, 1921 in Coffee County. His parents were the late Rupert Lewis Baker and Elizabeth (Davis) Baker. He is also preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Baker of Woodbury; sons, Phil & Kay Baker of Woodbury, David & Judy Baker of Sacremento, CA; daughters, Betty & Bill Love of Woodbury and Texie & Dwight Neal of Garden City, MI; brothers, Howard Baker, Thomas Baker and Meredith Baker all of Coffee County; sisters, Charlene Ferris of Kentucky and Alvern Bancheek of Coffee County; also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Baker was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was a member of the New Hope Church of Christ. He was owner and operator of a Porter Paint store in Franklin for many years.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 14, 2011 from 4-8 PM at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 11 AM in the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Herb Alsup and Don Burns will officiate and interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Coffee County. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the New Hope Church of Christ.
