Patsy Cawthorn Porter

Patsy Cawthorn Porter, 60, died Saturday, May 12, 2012.

A resident of Chester, S.C., she was a native of Cannon Co. Patsy was a  member of the Chester First Church of the Nazarene and a member of the New Life Sunday School Class. She was a gifted vocalist and often sang special praise music.

Survivors:

Husband: Pastor John R. Porter of Chester, S.C.

Brother: Gary Cawthorn of Woodbury.

Sister: Wanda Cawthorn Brewer of Manchester.    

Her best friend and caregiver: Beverly Love of Chester, S.C. and Lisa Martin of Deep Creek, MS, whom Patsy & John reared in their home as a daughter.                                                                    

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ruby Cawthorn.

Funeral services will be held at Gilley Hill United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2012.  Minister will be her husband, Pastor John R. Porter.          

Interment will be in Gilley Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday,  May 16, 2012.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the building fund of Chester First Church of the Nazarene, 182 Pinckney St., Chester, SC  29706
