Pair Receives Second Theft Charge Of Week

Two persons recently arrested in connection with an alleged theft are facing additional charges in a separate incident, along with a third person.

Joseph Eric Kile, of 64 Hollow Springs Rd., Woodbury, Linda C. Hughes, of 340 Powell St., Woodbury, and Angela Meeks, of 150 Franklin Park, Beechgrove, were all charged with theft over $1,000 on Thursday (June 23) by Cannon County Sheriff’s Investigator Anthony Young.

The trio allegedly stole storm windows (valued at $600), stock racks (valued at $300) and a set of axels ($200 value) from the property of Guy Alexander at 54 Hollow Springs Road on or about June 18, according to Investigator Young.

The investigator said one of the suspects was renting the property to keep horses, but did not have Alexander’s permission to take the items, which were sold at a local salvage operation.

Bond for Kile and Hughes was set at $7,000 apiece, while Meeks’ bond was set at $5,000. They are slated to appear in Cannon County General Sessions Court on Aug. 2 to answer the charges.

Kile and Hughes were each charged on June 20 with theft over $1,000 and criminal trespass  in another case. Investigator Young said information obtained during the investigation of the first case led to charges being filed in the second incident.
