A man being sought for violation of probation faces additional charges following his arrest on March 12.

Joseph Tyler Green, 149 Lorance Rd., Woodbury, was apprehended at the home of his uncle after trying to elude law enforcement officers.

He was charged with evading arrest and carrying a weapon with the intent to go armed after officers found him hiding in the basement of his uncle’s home at 214 East High St.

Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Eric Moss said he was on his way to work on March 12 when he observed Green in a car in the parking lot of the Quick Shop Market.

After confirming with Cannon County Dispatch that there was an active warrant for Green's arrest, Deputy Moss called for assistance from the Woodbury Police Dept. and Patrolman Patrick Fann responded.

"Once Green realized we were there, he jumped out from the passenger side of a black car. Officer Fann and I pursued Green on foot to an area of East High St," Deputy Moss said.

"Witnesses said they saw Green behind a house at 214 East High. With the assistance of Deputy Randy Neal, Reserve Deputy Roger Young, Woodbury Assistant Police Chief Kevin Mooneyham and Patrolman John Fesmire, we found Green hiding inside the home."

Darren L. Green, the uncle, stated his nephew was not at the residence when asked by officers. However, he granted permission to search the premises and, upon doing so, officers located Tyler Green in the basement between the mattress and box spring of a bed.

Assistant Chief Mooneyham then arrested Darren Green and charged him with filing a false report. Bond was set at $3,500. Initial court date is April 12.

Tyler Green remains in the Cannon County Jail under a $30,000 bond. His initial court date is April 12.
