Nichols family reunion

Where's the beef?" is not a question often asked in Well Fleet, Nebraska, where Dennis Stuckey manages 82 thousand head of beef cattle. Stuckey, who traveled the farthest distance of 900 miles to attend the Nichols Family Reunion, accompanied his mother Faye (Nichols) Stuckey. They joined together with more than 75 family members and friends at the annual event hosted by Barbara and Grady Parker at The Corner, on Doolittle Road, Woodbury.

Extensive Nichols family history was published in 2005 entitled, "The William and Mary Nichols Family of Cannon County Tennessee" by Danny M. Nichols. The earliest ancestor of the Nichols' line is William Nichols born in 1795 in Ky. He lived most of his life with wife Mary in the area that is now Cannon County. His son Daniel Alexander Nichols and wife Sarah (Vinson) Nichols had eight children whose descendants well populated future generations. Daniel and Sarah Nichols are buried in the Doolittle Cemetery just outside Woodbury. A new headstone for them was erected last year and placed alongside the original grave marker. Wyatt Barrett, grandson of Buck and Bina Nichols Barrett was instrumental in this accomplishment.

Nichols family births over the past year are twins, Dawson and Carlie Carlin, born July 7, 2016, to Nicki and Brad Carlin. They are the grandchildren of Don and Nancy Nichols, Murfreesboro. Another addition was Jackson Davenport born to Dana Davenport (daughter of Julie Nichols Fitts) on January 14, 2016.
