News from the Mountain
Tuesday, January 19, 2016 1:59 pm By CAROL GUNTER It's not a rainy night in Georgia but a pretty wet one in Tennessee this Saturday night. Awfully good sleeping weather for most of us. Very cold weather coming in on the backside of all this rain later on tonight. Charlie Mai Daniel has a birthday coming up on January 25th. Happy Birthday, Charlie Mai, and I hope you have a good one! *** Mr. Corley needs to know the latest on the aliens so here goes. Very hard to believe but the "little green men" and that "invisible cow" are all in big trouble now as they were caught on tape supposedly stealing someone's hog from a trailer over at Half Acre and of all things in broad daylight. Clyde and Bobby believe this was a set up and that they will get to the bottom of this. Can yo9u honestly picture them as detectives? I can't either. I will say the aliens and the cow tried to sabotage Clyde and my birthday bash back in December so I would not put it past them to pull a stunt like this just for the publicity they would be getting. My only comment on all of this is good luck as I don't have a dog in that fight as "Aubrey" would say. *** Found on last year's calendar some interesting details in the weather for March 2015. On March 16th I push-mowed our back yard. The temperature was 80 degrees that day. The next day I washed my truck as it was 75 degrees. Just seven days later on March 23rd I mowed both yards. Sure hope we can duplicate that kind of weather again in 2016 for march. *** A funny tidbit of a story on my radio station today. This guy was going to be coming into a large sum of money around $100,000. He had a bad heart so his kids were hesitant to tell him for fear of what that kind of news would do to their father. They though his pastor could do a better job of delivering the information to him. The pastor and the man discussed a lot of issues and the pastor finally asked the man what would he do if he received a lot of money say $100,000? The man thought for a second then he said why I would give every penny of it to the church. The pastor then fell dead! If you have any news for the column, just give me a call at 615-563-4429. Have a great day!
