News from the Mountain
Tuesday, October 27, 2015 3:14 pm BY CAROL GUNTER Hope everyone had a delightful weekend and got to be in church on Sunday. I didn't see any frost around here this Sunday morning as predicted but come Monday morning frost seemed to be everywhere you looked. Time of the year for frost on those pumpkins and anything else outside. I'm sure you, like me, seeing how the season is changing day by day now. Enjoy this nice weather while you can and soak it up like a sponge. Katie Underwood and Wilma Sue Barrett stopped by on Tuesday evening. Mai Nell Melton at Church Sunday. Carlon was not feeling well enough to be there. Keep him in prayer. Plenty of outside projects a person can get done this week with the sunny and dry weather. Lot of spray painting on the concrete flower pots and concrete planters and lawn furniture and etc. to get them looking better before the cold weather arrives. Look up cannas last weekend and have to get up dahlias this week and store in our garage until spring. I can remember mom and I keeping a close eye all those years on the weather come fall and when it was going to come a frost and we would be using old sheets, old shirts, or anything else handy to cover up all the flowers and the many hanging ferns we had. Oh how we loved our flowers and tried to keep them alive as long as we could. She did better on flowers than me. Mom had a green thumb -- I think mine was black. Such a beautiful blessing in my life was mom. When I think of her, I think God for the many blessings that came my way in Him giving me such a wonderful, sweet mom as her. I know exactly where she has been residing for seven years come Christmas Eve, 2015. Don't know when but someday I'll be in mom's presence again for all of eternity. Those that have accepted Jesus Christ (God's son) know they will be reunited with that loved on in heaven when their life here is over. God's word promises that for all that believe. This old world here just can't compare with that. Will be back out on our patio again tomorrow writing and hoping Ill spot some deer or turkeys up in the fields toward the mountain. Just the view of the mountain will be enough for this girl. A little piece of heaven we have right here to look at as the leaves on those trees are capturing out attention more now as they keep turning brilliant colors. ***
