NEW: Town looks to Food Bank

Woodbury Board of Mayor and Aldermen is looking at ways of serving holiday food donations more effectively.

The board heard Police Chief Kevin Mooneyham discuss Tuesday night difficulties with the way food baskets were collected and donated in the past and decided that working with the Woodbury Food Bank might be more effective.

Alderman Lois Latimer, who administers the Food Bank, said available food supplies are sparse. The center normally provides food stuffs on an emergency basis, she said.

Mooneyham volunteered to meet with various agencies in the community to see what could be done to supplement Food Bank supplies.
