First of all we have to back up and yee and haw a little to get straightened up. The CCWHA Horse Show Committee is the group one shuld contact for the 'Handcrafted Memory Plaques', 12"x12" finished wood, for $50 that will be displayed on the improved announcer's booth once completed. These Plaques will represent not only people who have made an impact on the horse industry and association, but horses who were outstanding and substantial in keeping the breed and legion of the Spotted Saddle and Walking Horses so alive today not only in Cannon County but across the country.
The CCWHA Horse Show Committee is composed of Sandy Alexander, Chris ALexander, Kelly Rollins, WC & Nikki Vassar, Jody, Jenny and Lou Campbell.
This is a great project and wished the best for a successful outcome.

The author of the following is not known personally; however, it was shared through a mutual friend with permission from the family to print.
This gentleman wrote stoies and poems throughout his life while sitting by the wood pile in the basement of his home. This was a place he read and studied the Bible.
Upon preparing for the funeral the family decided to display some of his previous work to share with family and friends that would be stopping in at the funeral home. Much to their surprise, the following poem was found. His daughter stated "it's almost like he left us something to give us peace after he was gone".
With so many in our rural communities having worked mules or horses, either as a hobby or as a means to provide for family, it was felt readers might enjoy his thoughts.

Heavenly Father ...
We as Christians wear the work harness of Christianity.
We pray that the throat latch of the bridle be made of hope and faith;
That the blinder will help to keep us on the straight and narrow path.
That the bit of correction will be of love and understanding;
The rein that is used to guide us will be of knowledge and wisdom.
May the collar be stuffed with the words of the Bible,
the hames be made without blemish,
and that the traces will not go slack in pulling the Christian's workload.
As a work animal steps into the stall for feed as his reward,
may we as Christians step up to the throne in Heaven to hear Thee say
"well done thou good and faithful servant."
In Christ's name we pray, Amen
