Nathan Nichols Announces For ReElection As District 1 Commissioner

Incumbent First District Commissioner Nathan Nichols has authorized the Cannon Courier/ to announce he is a candidate for re-election during the August 5th County General Election. Nathan was elected to the County Commission in 2006 and serves on its Law Enforcement and Recreation Committees. He is also a past member of the 911 Board.

In making his announcement, Nathan said “I have been honored to represent the people of the First District on the County Commission for the past 4 years and, if re-elected, I will continue to fight for the conservative principals of limited government and fiscal discipline. Nichols went on to say, “I am a proud product of the first district and Cannon County. From its schools to its churches, I am who I am because I  was lucky enough to grow up in Cannon County. We live in a wonderful  place and I want to help keep it that way.”

Nichols attended West Side Elementary and Cannon County High Schools. He  received his Bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University and is in his final year of studies at the Nashville School of Law. Nichols has been employed by the Cannon County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office for almost 9 years.

Nathan is the son of Mike and Vicky Glassmeyer of the Sunny Slope  Community and the grandson of the late James Youree Nichols of  Readyville and Ron and Anna Ryan of Murfreesboro. He is also a member of  New Hope Church of Christ.

In closing, Nichols said, “I will attempt to meet with as many of the  fine people in the First District as I can before the election but, if I do not see you, I would appreciate one of your two votes for First  District Commissioner on August 5th.”
