The Arbor Day Foundation has recognized Middle Tennessee Electric as a Tree Line USA utility for 2018.

The designation recognizes the cooperative's efforts and commitment to proper tree pruning, planting and care across the service territory.

"Vegetation Management is one of the hardest things we do as a cooperative," said Chris Jones, MTEMC president and CEO. "It is also one of the most important things we do. From tree pruning to brush clearing, we are committed to the safety and reliability of the entire system."

Tree Line USA is a partnership between the Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters and recognizes public and private utilities for pursuing practices that protect and enhance America's urban trees. The program promotes the dual goals of delivering safe and reliable electricity while maintaining healthy community forests.

"We recognize trees are an important part of our landscape and a vital component of sustainable communities," said Jones. "Being recognized as a Tree line USA for those efforts highlights the commitment we have to our communities."
