Motlow State Community College will host an area wide college fair with more than 40 institutions of higher education participating, according to Sheri Mason, assistant director of student services at the college. The college fair is open to the public and area high schools are encouraged to participate.

The college fair will be held from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sept 8, in Nisbett Center, Copperweld Arena, on the Moore County campus. The event is sponsored by the Student Success/Academic Advising Department.

“The college fair gives students an opportunity to meet with university—public and private, community college, technology center, and proprietary school recruiters as well as military recruiters to discuss education plans for the future,” Mason said. “Students now have many options in education that have not always been available. College shopping is more important now than ever before.”

A representative from Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC), the agency that also administers Lottery Scholarships, will present information workshops throughout the day. Workshops  will be held in Eoff Hall, Powers Auditorium.

The following institutions are scheduled to participate: Aquinas College, Art Institutes, Austin Peay State University, Belmont University, Berry College, Bryan College, Carson Newman College, Cumberland University, East Tennessee State University, Fayetteville Beauty School, Freed Hardeman University, Hiwassee  College, International Academy of Design and Technology;
