Judge Don Ash presided over Cannon County Circuit Court on Friday.  Some of the results from the various cases which appeared on the docket included:

Joseph Moore was sentenced to four years in prison by Judge Ash. Moore was convicted by a Cannon County Jury earlier in the summer for failure to appear.  He was ordered to serve his entire sentence.

George Manus pled guilty to two counts of casual exchange of marijuana. He was sentenced to 23 months, 28 days in the county jail.  That sentence was suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation, paying a $500.00 fine and paying the court costs.

Gregory J. Porter pled guilty under pre-trial diversion to the charge of sale of schedule IV drugs. He was placed on probation for 3 years to the State of Tennessee, ordered to pay a $2,000.00 fine and ordered to pay the court costs.

Camren Deffendoll pled guilty to the charge of theft over $500.00. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison and ordered to serve his entire sentence.

Lisa Pyles was reset until October 7, 2010. She is charged with numerous counts of theft and passing a worthless check.

Deborah Smithson pled guilty to the charge of criminal attempt to sell schedule II drugs. She was sentenced to 2 years in prison, fined $2,000.00 and ordered to pay the court costs. A suspended sentence hearing was set for October 7th before Judge Ash.

James L. Pendergrass pled guilty to the charge of driving on a suspended license.  He was sentenced to 6 months in the county jail.  That sentence was partially suspended upon serving 17 days in jail, paying a $50.00 fine and paying the court costs.

Tammie Thompson pled guilty to the charge of criminal attempt to sell schedule II drugs.  She was sentenced to 2 years in prison, fined $2,000.00 and ordered to pay the court costs.  A suspended sentence hearing was set for October 7, 2010 before Judge Ash.  In another case, Thompson pled guilty to violation of probation.  Her probation was revoked and she was ordered to serve her entire sentence.

Kirk W. Wilson pled guilty to the charge of driving under the influence.  He was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in the county jail.  That sentence was partially suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation, serving 48 hours in jail, paying a $350.00 fine and paying the court costs.  His driver’s license was also revoked for 1 year.  Wilson also pled guilty to the charge of driving while license revoked.  He was sentenced to 6 months in the county jail.  That sentence was suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation, paying a $50.00 fine and paying the court costs.

Thomas C. Davis’ petition for suspended sentence was denied by Judge Ash.

Joseph Edwards pled guilty to the charge of violation of probation.  His probation was revoked and he was ordered to serve his entire sentence but was furloughed to the Warren County Drug Court as an alternative to serving his time in jail.
