Mildred Watson



Ms. Mildred Slover Watson, 93, of Woodbury passed away April 7, 2010 following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2010 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Herb Alsup and Bro. Bobby Zumbro officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m.

A native of Cannon County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Edgar Slover and Mattie Howard Slover; husband, Walden G. Watson; brothers, Herman A. Slover, Eulas G. Slover, James H. Slover, Clinton S. Slover, G.E. Slover, A.E. Slover, Jr. and Henry E. Slover.

She is survived by a daughter, Lynn (John) Bourgeois of Woodbury; grandchildren Brandon Bourgeois of Baton Rouge, David Todd Maddox of Gulf Shores and Andy Bourgeois of Woodbury; and sisters-in-law, Frances Slover, Dorothy Slover, Othis Henry and Dean Watson.

She was a member of the Woodbury First Baptist Church and the owner and operator of Western Auto for 38 years.

Active pallbearers will be Ricky Hildredth, Neal Cox, Tucker and Charles Slover, James Batey, Larry Phillips, Darrell Goins, Phil Henry and Bob Cooley.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Adams Memorial Library, Woodbury Nursing Center Activities Club or the American Diabetes Assoc.
