Cannon County Middle Grades Football returns to regular season play as the Lions host Wilson Central Middle tonight at Fred Schwartz Field. Kickoff is slated for 6:30. With two games left to go a win tonight means the Lions will finish the season with a winning record. The Lions are 5-3 coming into the game. They are coming off a loss to Macon County in the Cannon Bowl from Tuesday night.

The Cannon County Lionettes girls soccer team rolls into the championship game of the District 7-AA tournament looking for their fifth consecutive win but in their way is the top seed of the event in Smith County. The Lady Owls didn't lose a district game all season but the Lionettes played them as close as any team this year before losing 2-0 in Woodbury September 28th.
Since then the Lionettes have gone on to win four straight including the semifinal matchup against York Tuesday 3-0.
The championship will be played in Jamestown at York Institute starting at 6:00.
