Melvin Eugene Leeman



Melvin Eugene Leeman, age 75 years and 9 months, of Manchester, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Stonecrest Medical Center in Smyrna following a short illness.

Mr. Leeman was a native of Cannon County and a member of the Manchester Church of Christ and served as a deputy sheriff on both Coffee and Bedford counties. He was a self-employed bondsman until his retirement in 2010. He was also a proud United States Marine Veteran.

Mr. Leeman is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Elaine Wales Leeman; daughters, Kim Curtis (Steve) of Athens, AL, Kay Gibbs (Kevin) of Bell Buckle, TN; grandchildren, Danielle French (Alex) of Murfreesboro, TN, Caleb Gibbs, Logan Gibbs, Laurel Curtis, and Lindey Curtis; sisters, Agnes Smith (Marvin) of Murfreesboro, Lida Hockett (Basiel) of Beech Grove, Jane Pirtle of Murfreesboro, Ola Duggin (Virgil) of Woodbury; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Mr. Leeman is preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell and Bessie Higgins Leeman of Cannon County; sister Mildred Duke; brothers-in-law, Donald Duke and Ron Pirtle.
