Marijuana, meth, $12,000 in cash confiscated during drug bust
Tuesday, April 21, 2015 3:51 pm An assortment of drugs including marijuana and meth were seized along with more than $12,000 in cash following an April 8 raid by the Cannon County Sheriff's Department. In a separate case, four suspects were arrested April 7 on meth-related charges with the assistance of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department. A woman, later identified as Heather Shae Witas, answered the door and advised the homeowner, Robert (Bobby) Lloyd Kyle was at home. "I asked Bobby (Kyle) if he had any marijuana inside the residence, which he stated 'you smell it,'" Investigator Gullett said. It contained drug paraphernalia, crystal meth, two bags of marijuana and several kinds of prescription pills, Gullett said. The box also contained a plastic zip-up bag with $12,000 in cash. Another $543 was discovered in the pocket of a pair of blue jeans. In another room, Investigator Brown discovered more pills, brown powder identified as meth, a syringe, digital scales and a tourniquet. Kyle was then transported to the Cannon County Jail where he was charged with manufacture/sale/delivery of Schedule II drugs (meth), possession of Schedule II drugs (three counts) and Possession of marijuana. A hearing date was set for May 5 in General Sessions Court. Vitas was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of meth. A hearing date was set for May 5. On April 7, Investigator Gullett was contacted by Investigator Jeremy Taylor of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office concerning a male subject who was wanted on active warrants from DeKalb. Taylor also informed the Cannon officers he had received information that a Nicholas "Twick" Hollingsworth along with James H. Patton were possibly manufacturing methamphetamine at Peyton Lane Trailer Park. A knock on the trailer door was answered by Patton, who was wanted on parole violation out of DeKalb County. Three more individuals were asked to step out. They included Hollingsworth, Heather Trapp and Amanda Lattimore. "I then located in the backyard a large burn pile that contained stripped batteries, blister packs, zippo lighter fluid, all burnt," he said. Patton, Hollingsworth, Trapp and Lattimore were all charged with initiation of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia with a court date of May 5 in General Sessions Court.
