Man Reportedly Killed In Tractor Accident



The Cannon County Sheriff's Department and the Cannon County Rescue Squad responded to the scene of an apparent tractor accident early Wednesday afternoon that resulted in a fatality.

The accident reportedly occurred on Dewey Bryson Hollow Rd. The complainant met responders at the intersection of Dewey Bryson and Locks Creek and escorted them to the scene at the top of a hill.

According to reports, the caller found his son deceased at the scene of the accident.

James Russell Duggin, 46, died at his home from injuries sustained in a tractor accident on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. He was born May 23, 1965 in Cannon County.

He is survived by his parents, Bratten and Wanda Bryson Duggin of Woodbury; grandparents, Dewey and Mildred Bryson of Readyville; sister, Lorie Jakes of Auburntown; brothers, Mark (Kendall) Duggin of Auburntown and Jerry Melton; four nephews and two nieces, Brent, Brian and Katelyn Duggin, Briar, Luke and Abby Jakes.

Mr. Duggin was a Baptist and an employee of QEK Gobal Solutions and a farmer. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mack and Lovie Duggin.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. at Woodbury Funeral Home on Saturday, August 27 with Bro. Mark Stinnett and Bro. Buford Humphrey officiating. Burial was in Riverside Gardens. Visitation was from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, August 26.
