Man Punches Girlfriend During Lunch

Local law enforcement officers charged the following people recently in separate incidents involving a variety of offenses:

• Joshua Blake Cummings, 109 Rogers St., Woodbury, was charged with Domestic Assault on July 11 by Woodbury Police Chief Kevin Mooneyham. While at home on a lunch break, Cummings allegedly got into an altercation with the purported victim and punched her on the left cheek, causing visible redness and swelling. Cummings also allegedly grabbed her by the left hand, causing bleeding to an area where she had stitches. Bond was set at $3,000. Initial court date is Aug. 21.

• Paul A. Wilson, 251 Manustown Road, Woodbury, was charged with Simple Possession of a Schedule VI Drug on July 22 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Moss. Approximately 1 1/2 ounces of marijuana were found between a mattress and box spring which Wilson stated belonged to him. Bond was set at $800. Initial court date is Aug. 7.

• Janice Lee Young, 418 Murfreesboro Rd., Woodbury, was charged with DUI 1st Offense and Simple Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance on July 10 by Woodbury Assistant Police Chief Lowell Womack following a traffic stop on John Bragg Hwy. In Young’s possession were allegedly found 10 Lortab pills. Bond was set at $5,500. Initial court date is Aug. 21.

• Peyton Andrew Young, 29 Bryson St., Auburntown, was charged with Underage Consumption on July 9 by Woodbury Patrolman Patrick Fann. Young was stopped for spinning the tires of his car in the parking lot of the Cannon County Courthouse. Officer Fann could smell alcohol on Young, who admitted to drinking beer earlier in the night. A release citation was issued. Initial court date is Aug. 21.

• Robert Lee Odom, 804 Old Manchester Road, Woodbury, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Disorderly Conduct on July 10 by Woodbury Patrolman Patrick Fann. Odom allegedly “got in the face” of an employee at the Quick Shop Market and began yelling and cursing. While he was being arrested a pipe used for smoking marijuana was found in his right front pants pocket. Bond was set at $3,000. Initial court date is Aug. 21.

• Andrew Scott Asbury, 298 Eugene Reed Rd., Woodbury, was charged with Evading Arrest on July 23 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Moss. Bond was set at $4,000. Initial court date is Sept. 11.

• William Kevin Bryant, 319 Hayes St., Woodbury, was charged with Driving While License Revoked 3rd Offense and Driving Uninsured on July 20 by Woodbury Assistant Police Chief Lowell Womack following a traffic stop on S. McCrary St. Bond was set at $1,800. Initial court date is Aug. 21.

• Mercedes Reger, 166 Petty Gap Rd., Woodbury, was charged with Underage Possession of Alcohol on July 22 by Woodbury Patrolman Patrick Fann. Reger allegedly had in her possession a 1.75 liter of tequila. The bottle was found during an investigation about a reported theft. A release citation was issued. Initial court date is Sept. 18.

• William Spencer Bennett, 113 Greenbriar St., Woodbury, was charged with Driving While License Revoked on July 14 by Woodbury Patrolman John Fesmire. Bond was set at $2,000. Initial court date is Aug. 28.

• Donna Jean Campbell, 335 Hayes St., Woodbury, was charged with Excessive Pseudoephedrine Purchases by Woodbury Patrolman John Fesmire. Campbell allegedly purchased 9.6 grams of the methamphetamine precursor within a 30 day period at local businesses. Bond was set at $500. Initial court date is Sept. 25.

• John Gristy, 5031 Sycamore Creek Rd., Woodbury, was arrested on a charge of Assault on July 10. The complainant alleges that Gristy hit him on July 6 and hit and smacked him on July 7. Bond was set at $2,500. Initial court date is Aug. 7.

• James Paul Simpson, 706 Parker Dr., Woodbury, was charged with Failure to Report an Accident and Leaving the Scene of an Accident on July 5 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Seth Perry. The accident occurred on July 4. Deputy Perry was dispatched to a report of a vehicle in a creek on George Scott Road. When he arrived he observed a white Chevy truck and some first responders. The driver was not in the truck or at the scene. The tag number returned to Simpson. A search of the area was conducted and Simpson was not located. The next day after Deputy Perry heard from family members that Simpson had not returned home a BOLO was issued. He was located a short time later at an address on Petty Gap Rd. Initial court date is Aug. 7.

• Randall C. Smotherman, 3907 Dickens Hill Rd., Bradyville, was charged with Public Intoxication on July 5 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Steve McMillen. The incident occurred at Stones River Hospital. Bond was set at $250. Initial court date is Aug. 7.

• Jimmy Dean Robinson, 104 Peeler Hill Rd., Woodbury, was charged with Public Intoxication on July 6 by Woodbury Patrolman John House following an incident at Reed Court. Robinson registered a .241 on a portable breath tester after he was found staggering down the roadway. Bond was set at $500. Initial court date is Aug. 28.

• Corey Scott McNeese, 1695 Iconium Rd., Woodbury, was charged with Driving on Suspended License 3rd Offense and cited for violations of the Seatbelt, Registration, Wheel Tax and Financial Responsibility laws on July 4 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Travis Turney. The deputy was patrolling on Iconium Rd. when he observed a silver Dodge Neon driven by McNeese. Having prior knowledge McNeese’s license was suspended, Deputy Turney initiated a traffic stop. McNeese said he was driving to check the car’s mechanical condition. Bond was set at $5,250. Initial court date is Aug. 7.

• Nathan James Barnett, 203 Meadowbrook Dr., Woodbury, was charged with Driving on Suspended License and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia on July 7 following a traffic stop on Clinch St. The bottom of a cut aluminum can was located inside the vehicle. The can bottom was burned on one side and contained pill remnants on the other. Bond was set at $3,000. Initial court date is Aug. 28.

• Joseph Anthony Carioscia, 255 Oak Brook Dr., McMinnville, was charged with Driving on Suspended License on July 5 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Seth Perry following a traffic stop on McMinnville Hwy. A release citation was issued. Initial court date is Aug. 7.

• William Alan Rosenbaum, 3540 Hwy. 231N Apt. W1, Shelbyville, was charged with Driving on License Suspended 2nd Offense on July 4 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Travis Turney following a traffic stop on Jim Cummings Hwy. Deputy Turney observed the vehicle Rosenbaum was driving traveling at a low rate of speed and weaving. Bond was set at $1,500. Initial court date is Aug. 8.

• Michael Joe Sanders, 815 or 779 Hollis Creek Rd. South, Woodbury, was charged with Driving on Revoked License 3rd Offense on June 30 by Woodbury Patrolman John Fesmire following a traffic stop on W. Adams St. Bond was set at $1,500. Initial court date is Aug. 28.

• Sarah Renee Grizzle, 406 Todd Road, Woodbury, was served a warrant charging her with Phone Harassment on July 20. The purported victim alleges that Grizzle sent her several text messages of a threatening nature. Bond was set at $1,800. Initial court date is Aug. 7.

• Jonathan Logan Briley, 6749 Dug Hollow Rd., Bradyville, was charged with Simple Possession of Marijuana on July 9 by Woodbury Patrolman Patrick Fann. A part of a marijuana cigarette was found in an empty cigarette box that was in his possession while he was being searched. A release citation was issued. Initial court date is Aug. 21.

• Shawn Tyler Pritchard, 162 Taborwood Trail, Murfreesboro, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia on July 9 by Woodbury Patrolman Patrick Fann. Pritchard had in his possession a bag containing syringes, spoon and razor. Bond was set at $1,500. Initial court date is Aug. 21.

• Dustin Ray Rogers, 4618 Ferrell Hollow Rd., Readyville, was served arrest warrants on July 10 charging him with Aggravated Criminal Trespass and two counts of Violation of Order of Protection by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Steve McMillen. It is alleged that on or about June 16, 2012, Rogers entered the resident of the purported victim without her consent and while she was asleep. While there he allegedly engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim, who was the petitioner in an order of protection against him. Another individual who was also under the protection order was also present during Rogers’ presence there.
