Local Man Arrested For Sixth Time In Year

A Woodbury man who has been a frequent visitor to Cannon County courts in the last year finds himself in legal trouble again.

Jonathan Wayne Kestner, 155 Armstrong Lane, Woodbury, is charged following the latest incident with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of vandalism.

During an argument on July 18 at 155 Armstrong Lane with Joey Stafford, Kestner allegedly brandished a machete in a threatening manner and stated that he would kill the subjects involved.

Strafford was holding a small child in his arms when the incident occurred.

During the incident, Kestner allegedly struck the windshield of a vehicle belonging to Stafford, causing damage estimated to be in the amount of $500

Kestner’s total bond was set at $45,000. Initial court date is Sept. 6.

Kestner has a lengthy recent history with local law enforcement and the court system.

On Sept. 5 of last year, Kestner was charged with DUI, violation of the implied consent law and reckless endangerment following two separate incidents.

On Nov. 24, 2010 he was charged with disorderly conduct.

A Dec. 9, 2010 domestic assault incident, which also involved a child, resulted in his arrest.

Kestner was also arrested for domestic assault on March 4 of this year. He was then arrested on April 2 for violation of bond conditions stemming from that incident.

Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Steve McMillen investigated the July 18 incident.
