Lions heating up on course

Cannon County’s Wyatt Goff fired a nine-hole 41 and Briar Jakes shot 45 as the Lions tied Smith County 187-187 in golf action. Hunter Vickers finished with a 50, and William Parker and Josh Ruehlen each shot 51 to lead the Lions.

Cannon County also turned back Monterey last week, 194-200, as Goff and Vickers led the way, each shooting 47. Parker shot a 49 and Jacob Nave finished at 51, followed by Jakes with a 52.

The Lions dropped a 159-196 decision against Central Magnet. Jakes (46) and Nave (47) led the way, followed by Parker (51) and Vickers (52).
