The Cannon County Lions Golf team finished 5th in the region at the Southern Hills Golf Course in Cookeville last week. Upperman and Monterey sent their teams on to the state tournament with 344 and 358 scores respectively. Cannon finished with a team score of 401 out of six teams. Luke Jakes (above) led the Lions shooting 88 on the 18-hole course while Chris Young finished second on the team with an 89. Austin Taylor shot 106 on the day. Brendan Schwartz shot 120 and Brady Sissom finished the course with a score of 118. Individually Jakes finished 9th on the course and Young came in 14th. (Photo by Ronny Burks)
