The Cannon County Lions Club is celebrating the season by reaching out to those in the community who may be less fortunate during this Christmas season.

The Lions Club “President’s Project” was to feed 200 people in the community who were in need. Lions Club President Sue Patrick said names of people who may be in need of help were turned into the Lions Club by area churches, the Woodbury Police Department, the Cannon County Senior Citizens Center and the Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency.

Members of the Lions Club delivered plate meals to 200 families Friday (Dec. 17). The meals were prepared for shut-ins and those in need.

Each member of the family received a plate with turkey and dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, rolls and desert. Lions Club members cut more than 100 pounds of potatoes and prepared the meals.
