Lions At Home For Playoff Opener Against Harpeth
Cannon County will be at home Friday night when the Lions play their first football playoff game in 14 years.

Cannon County, which won the District 8-AA title, will face Harpeth High from Kingston Springs in Cheatham County at 7 p.m. at Fred Schwartz Field at Cannon County High School.

The Lions, who enter the contest coming off a 6-4 regular season record, are the No. 2 seed in the quadrants the TSSAA has established for the football playoffs. Harpeth comes in with a 5-5 record and the No. 6 seed.

“We are happy to be able to host a game and appreciate the strong support the community has shown,” Lions’ first-year head coach Joel Schrenk said Saturday morning as his team and supporters gathered at the Courthouse Square to listen to a radio broadcast of the annoucement of the playoff brackets.

Tickets for the playoff game will be $8 each. They will be available beginning Wednesday at the high school and up until game time.

The Lions Boosters Club is planning a pep rally at the Courthouse Square Thursday night at 7 p.m. and encourages the community to come out and show their support for the Lions.
