To the Editor:

The family of Xavier Asbury would like to thank Ms. Christy of Woodland Elem. School. She was teaching Ms. Jessica's Pre-K while she was on maternity leave when school began this year.

Every parent in the world knows just how hard it is and how many tears are shed as you leave your whole world in the hands of strangers on their first day of school.

There were many weeks of tears before we finally got Xavier settled into his new and scary routine.
But with the help and EXTREME patience of Ms. Christy, Ms. Connie, and Ms. Chesney - we finally made it!
Ms. Jessica has since returned and Xavier adores her. We still have our small moments, but overall he has settled in well.

Ms. Christy has moved on to sub in another class and as we pass her door each morning she always stops what she is doing and shares words of encouragement with Xavier, as he shares a Reece's cup with her each morning. He takes 2 in his snack bag and gives her one and him one. He says they are her favorite candy.

Thank you, Ms. Christy, for always being patient, encouraging and firm when you needed to be. Thank you for treating the students you teach just as you would your own and never giving up on them. Most of all I would like to thank you for always taking time out of your very busy day to always encourage my grandson, and all the patience you showed me and him mom. I know that was the hardest part of all, but that was our whole world we were handing to you in tears every day.

Thank you and Ms. Connie, Ms. Chesney, and Ms. Jessica for being so kind and such wonderful teachers.
Diane and Jessica Asbury
Woodland
