Lacey Buchanan Approved As 5th District Commissioner

Lacey Buchanan, who ran in the 2018 election and was short four votes of being one of the two commissioners selected for the county's fifth district, is now an official Cannon County Commissioner. After the resignation of Kim Davenport in January due to health reasons, Buchanan applied to fill the seat. Buchanan, a practicing attorney, started the CASA program for foster children here before accepting a job in Nashville.
Fifth district commissioner Ronnie Mahaffey nominated her for the vacancy at Thursday's meeting of the Cannon County Commission.
