June 7: American Legion E-Board Meeting

There will be an Executive Board Meeting of The American Legion Post 279 at the Senior Citizens Center on Thursday, June 7, 2012; at 6:30 p.m.

With Boys State and Girls State behind us, we will be putting the emphasis on the Kansas City Barbeque Society, KCBS, licensed Bar-B-Q Cook-Off and craft show on October 6, 2012, at our local Cannon County Fair Grounds.

We will be seeking the support of local businesses, civic organizations, and individuals to help make this a yearly event similar to the KCBS Cook-Off held annually at Lynchburg.

If we are successful this year, next year we go for a fully licensed and sanctioned Bar-B-Q Cook-Off Competition Event. If we are successful next year we will be on the road to making this an annual event and our major fund raiser.

All of our funds go 100% to supporting the youth programs and our veterans in Cannon County. We hope that you will join forces with us to make this a good thing for Cannon County.
