July 29: WeCareCannon At WGS

It is almost back-to-school time! Cannon County students are eager to get back to their friends, meet their new teachers, and get into the routine for another school year. In an effort to make sure students are prepared for this new school year, many of our businesses and community leaders are excited for the inaugural WeCareCannon.

Just what is this WeCareCannon event? WeCareCannon is an initiative targeting students pre-k through high school who are in need of help with getting ready to succeed for the upcoming school year. Lots of things go into making a school year successful, many of which are basic needs.  So many in our community have teamed up to provide Cannon County children with backpacks, school supplies, hygiene products, haircuts, health checks, dental exams, vision screenings, shoes, socks, and underwear.  

WeCareCannon will take place at Woodbury Grammar School on Sunday, July 29 from 2pm until 5pm. This event is for children pre-k through high school who reside in Cannon County. A child must be present to collect the items. The WCC committee has worked hard to provide as many of the items as possible, but items will be handed out as long as supplies last. Health services and haircuts will be available until 5pm.  However, please note no prescriptions, sports physicals and well child forms, or immunizations will be rendered.
