Jr. Lionettes Beat Westwood, Fall To Cascade

On Monday March 12, The Cannon County Jr. Lionettes Softball Team traveled to Coffee County to go up against the Westwood Rockets.  Westwood jumped to an early 1-0 lead after the first inning but a strong defensive front put up by the Jr. Lionettes would prove to be a decisive factor in the game.  When the dust had settled the Jr. Lionettes came out on top by a score of 4–2.  

Pitcher Jessica Elmy recorded an impressive 11 strikeouts from the mound. Solid defensive plays by Kallie McCrary and Ally Parton added to the overall team effort in the victory.  Kallie McCrary was 1 for 2 batting with 2 RBI’s.
 
On Wednesday March 14, the Jr. Lionettes traveled to Bedford County to face a very strong Cascade team.  Cascade mounted an early 2 – 0 lead and ultimately won the contest 4–1.  A much improved Jr. Lionettes defense kept the game close but the Jr. Lionettes were unable to get the offense going, proving to be the deciding factor in the game.
 
The Jr. Lionettes are coached by Randy Farnsworth.  Assistant coach is Ray Elmy.
