JR Jions To Host Red Boiling Springs Tuesday

The Cannon County JR Lions put up a strong fight before falling, 42-21, against first-place Trousdale County Thursday (Sept. 22) at Schwartz Field.

The Lions trailed by 12 entering the final quarter before Trousdale County showed why it is a first-place team by flexing its muscle and pulling away down the stretch.

"We showed signs of improvement at different positions and the players continue to work hard," JR Lions Head Coach Randy Farnsworth said. "We handled ourselves pretty well for the most part so I'm proud of the players and the improvements they continue to make."

Julio Dominguez, Jake Walkup and Austin Brock all scored touchdowns for the JR Lions, which were led by Bo Bryson's 254 yards total offense. Bryson, who moved to quarterback following an injury to Brady Page, passed for 191 yards.

Walkup also had an impressive game with 105 yards total offense. Dominguez (67), Brock (35) and Devin Killpatrice (20) also factored into the team's offensive totals.

The JR Lions will face Red Boiling Springs at Schwartz Field Tuesday (Sept. 27) at 6:30 p.m. It is Eighth-Grade Night for the JR Lions.
