John Earl Phillips

John Earl Phillips, 89, of Woodbury died Wed., Nov. 13 at Alvin C. York Medical Center following an extended illness. He was a native of Cannon Co.

He is survived by his son:  Rannie Earl (Debbie) Phillips of Woodbury; Grandchildren: Lora (Tony) Hortert, Neal (Erin) Phillips, Jarrod Phillips, Jessica (Kyle) Casper, Shana Phillips, Allie Wilson, Ashley (Mitchell) Skelton; Great Grandchildren:  John Christian, Garrett, and Rachel Hortert, Max Skelton and Noah Casper; Sister:  Adean (Glen) Coppinger of Woodbury; Sister-in-law:  Beverly Phillips of Woodbury. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette Phillips and Meadie Elkins Phillips; his wife, Maynie Phillips; his son, Alan Phillips; Grandson, J.R. Phillips and great granddaughter, Lindsey Hortert.

A member of the Church of Christ, he was a Sawmill Foreman and a veteran of WWII.

Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Mon., Nov. 18, 2013 with Bro. Herb Alsup officiating.  Interment will follow in the Prater Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday 3 pm – 9 pm, Nov. 16, 2013 and Sunday, 1 pm until 9 pm., Nov. 17, 2013.
