James “J.T.” Reed, 82, died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Stones River Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born in Davidson County and was a resident of Woodbury.
Mr. Reed was a retired factory worker and a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the Army. He was also a member of Elkins Church of Christ and the Short Mtn. Masonic Lodge. J.T. loved animals, loved to garden and also loved to fish.
Survivors:
Wife of 51 years: Faye Braswell Reed of Woodbury.
2 Daughters: Carlene (Randal) Hillis of Christiana and Joy (John) Waggoner of Manchester.
5 Grandchildren: Brandon Lafever, Amanda, Chris & Grant Hillis and Nicole Green.
3 Great Grandchildren: Lesley, Bryson & Annabelle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Austin Reed & Vanner Mae Simmons Reed.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 with Bro. Jim Blankenship and Bro. Bobby Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Thyatira Cemetery
Visitation: After 12 Noon – 9 pm Tues., March 27 and Wednesday until time of service
Pallbearers: Lecal Bowden, Chris & Grant Hillis, Dean Blackburn, Nathan Braswell, Grady George, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers: Trent Bowden & James Stembridge.
