Home up for auction catches fire

A fire which started at around 4 a.m. Saturday morning caused damage to the inside of a home on South McCrary St. The Woodbury Fire Dept. responded and was on scene for several hours. The home, located at 418 S. McCrary St., was scheduled to be auctioned this morning. The auction was canceled.

Woodbury Fire Chief Bob DeWinter said the cause of the fire is undetermined and he has asked the State Fire Marshal's Office to investigate and a representative will be in town Monday morning at 8:30 a.m.

DeWinter said four units from his department responded to the fire and 4,000 of water were used to extinguish the blaze.

Nobody was inside the home when the fire started, DeWinter said.
